Cancer can develop in any organ of the male and female urinary and male reproductive system. As with all other forms of cancer, the earlier a urological cancer is detected, the greater the chance of successful treatment and eliminating the cancer before it becomes aggressive and spreads.

Not all abnormal masses of cells are cancerous. A biopsy (removing a small sample of tissue so the cells can be examined with a microscope) will determine if a tumor is cancerous (malignant) or non-cancerous (benign).

If you have any of the symptoms of urological cancer, it’s important see your doctor as soon as possible. Of course, most symptoms have several possible causes and only a medical examination can determine if the actual cause is cancer or another condition.

Within this website, you will find useful information on cancers of the urological system including – treatments (surgery, radiation therapy, medical oncology and brachytherapy), patient information, useful links etc.
